Liposuction a.k.a. Liposculpture or Suction Assisted Lipectomy
Liposuction is the removal of the fat from different areas. There are several liposuction machines available, which remove the fat in a different way.
Liposuction is a procedure for patients that have mild to moderate amounts of extra fat, but have good skin tone, and no wrinkling or many stretch marks. Liposuction is indicated for patients with normal weight to slightly overweight.
Liposuction is the removal of fat only. The skin has to shrink; therefore, you need good skin tone. If you have a lot of wrinkling, rolls or stretch marks, you are not a good candidate for this procedure. The skin will shrink better if you are young, have good skin tone and only have a mild amount of extra skin. Exercise will help to improve the results. If you are overweight more than 20 pounds or you have stretch marks, wrinkles or large rolls you will need to have the skin surgically removed.
Liposuction is not a weight reduction procedure. It cannot be used for obesity because only small amounts of fat can be safely removed.
